Mentorship & Creative Lab
Sessions are offered in line with the gift economy, meaning I offer my time freely to support you.
Mentorship & Creative Labs
I offer mentorship sessions and small creative labs rooted in my experience as a classically trained visual artist and internationally recognised documentary filmmaker. My practice moves across film, painting, sound, installation, and collaborative research, and I bring this interdisciplinary lens into all mentoring work.
I work with artists and filmmakers who are navigating complexity — whether that’s developing new work, moving between disciplines, questioning dominant narratives, or finding ethical and sustainable ways to practice within collapsing systems. Our sessions are not about quick fixes or productivity hacks, but about creating space for clarity, reflection, and grounded movement forward.
My background spans long-form documentary filmmaking, immersive visual art, institutional collaboration, funding and development, as well as the less visible labour of working with others, negotiating power, and staying in relationship with one’s values. I draw on all of this in conversation, responding to where you are and what you’re carrying into the work.

Applying for Mentorship
If this feels aligned, you’re invited to apply using the short form below. The questions are there to help me understand where you are in your practice and what kind of support might be most useful at this moment.
I’m committed to creating accessible and inclusive spaces, particularly for disabled and neurodivergent people. If the application form presents any barriers, please feel free to contact me directly at info@maraadina.com, and we can arrange an alternative way to connect that works for you.
On Exchange & Value
I’m interested in forms of exchange that move beyond extractive models and fixed hierarchies of value. These mentorship sessions are offered in the spirit of the gift economy.
I offer my time freely, with care and presence, recognising that these conversations are meaningful to me as well. After our session, you’ll be invited to offer a donation based on what feels generous and sustainable for you, without strain or obligation. There is no fixed amount. I’ll share a donation link following each session.
This approach is rooted in trust, reciprocity, and mutual respect.
