Mara Adina is a visual artist and filmmaker. Originally trained in fine art, she spent years making politically engaged documentaries which screened at Sundance, London Film Festival, Hot Docs, and on Netflix, HBO, and Hulu, before her practice opened into something wider: large-scale oil painting, sculpture, moving image, language, and immersive installation, held together in relation to land and to each other. Her work interrogates the legacies of capitalism and colonialism while imagining pathways toward climate justice and radically hopeful futures. Rooted in feminist ecology, systems thinking, and relational practice, her work seeks to move toward embodied experience, creating spaces where viewers can feel, reckon with, and reimagine their relationship to a world in collapse.
